Nontoxic Air Freshener

It’s easy to get carried away by good smelling scents of air freshener that we might forget that air fresheners affects the quality of our health and environment. Toxic synthetic air freshener adds pollutant particles to our environment (unhealthy indoor air), negatively affecting the natural balance of our environment as well as provoke your skin, eye, respiratory system, and they do not freshen the air but only works by masking the offensive odor.  Synthetic air fresheners and synthetic fragrance products may contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chlorinated hydrocarbons, Dichlorobenzene that are actively toxic to our health. Toxic air freshener could cause harm to your respiratory system—allergies, sinusitis/bronchitis, poison kidney and liver; also dichlorobenzene are central nervous system depressant. Older people, sick patients, asthmatics and children—infants are much more vulnerable to the negative effects of toxic air fresheners.

The aroma of warm cinnamon buns wafting through the air, the heady fragrance of roses mingled with jasmine, or the fresh scent of just-peeled tangerines appeal to many people. But if you bring these fragrances into your home or car in the form of air fresheners you may be getting more than you bargained for, with possible consequences to your health and the planet. Luckily, there are simple eco-options to clear the air.
