Cabbage for protection against colon cancer

Cabbage to some is eww and stinky but to others cabbage is a treasure on a dinner platter because it is very high in fiber and very low in calories (a cup of chopped raw green cabbage contains 20 calorie) and also a rich source of vitamin C. Red cabbage contains almost twice as much vitamin C as the green cabbage, while the green variety contains twice as much folate as the red; the red and green cabbage provide potassium and fiber. Savoy cabbage is a good source of beta carotene
People who eat cruciferous vegetables like cabbage have low rate of colon cancer. Cabbage contains some protective effect from its bioflavonoids, indoles, monoterpenes, and other plant chemicals that inhibit tumor growth and protect cells against damage from free radicals, (unstable molecules released when the body uses oxygen). Women who eat good amounts of cabbage have lower incidence of breast cancer because some of the chemicals in cabbage helps speed up the body’s metabolism of estrogen. Indole-3-carbinol in cabbage helps protect against cancers of the uterus and ovaries. Cabbage is very beneficial for those who have ulcers and skin problems.

Most popular cabbage found at the grocery store
  • Green cabbage can be eaten raw or cooked.
  • Red cabbage can be steamed or eaten raw; it is very high in vitamin C
  • Savoy cabbage has ruffled yellow green outer leaves and is higher in beta carotene than other varieties
  • Bok Choy, or Chinese cabbage has higher amounts of calcium. It has a celery like stalk of white leave like flowers.
Caution:
It is best you steam or stir-fry cabbage to preserve its nutrients. Avoid using aluminum cookware that can cause a chemical reaction that discolors the vegetable and alters its flavor.

Cabbage may cause bloating or flatulence. Also, If you’re asthmatic or have allergies; read the cabbage labels before purchase and avoid cabbage preserved using sulfites.
When cooking cabbage remember to ventilate your kitchen because it has a strong stinky odor that is sulfurous unpleasant odor.

Make your own kimchi at home
Spicy kimchi is a common dish in the Asian culture but it has also become a versatile dish for most vegetarians. It can be enjoyed as an appetizer, salad, side dish, filling, stew/soup, and stir-fry ingredient, cabbage can be used to make spring rolls and Macedonian vegan stuffed cabbage dish and in many other ways. It is vegan/vegetarian, low-cal, low-carb, gluten-free, and a healthy side meal.

To make kimchi, you will need

I large green and red, or Chinese or Napa cabbage
Half whole cucumber sliced
5 to 8 green (spring) onions, chopped
4oz. coarse sea salt or non-iodized salt
4 tbsp. chili powder or hot red pepper
2 to 4 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tbsp raw cane sugar or pure honey
2 oz. fresh ginger, crushed or 1 tsp. powdered ginger
1/2 large onion, sliced
1/2 carrot, shredded or sliced
1/2 tsp olive oil

Discard the stems and any spoiled or stained leaves, wash the cabbage. Then slices it or use your hand to tear it into eatable square size. Put the washed sliced cabbage in a bowl and rinse it thoroughly with cold water and vinegar to wash away pesticides, debris and potential insect eggs. Press the leaves in your palms to squeeze as much water out of them as possible. Sprinkle 4 oz. coarse sea salt or non-iodized salt over them; toss to coat pieces evenly with salt. Then you can steam it to eat or
Marinate it for 12 hours in the fridge to use for kimchi. The salt will create a brine solution with the juice of cabbage.
Combine the sliced cucumber, onions, garlic, ginger and carrots into the bowl and mix well.
Remove the marinated cabbage from the fridge and discard the brine. The vegetable should be softer than it was before. Add the cabbage to the bowl of vegetables containing the onions, garlic, ginger and carrots.
Add sugar or honey, chili powder or hot red pepper to taste and add more chili powder if desired. Chili powder hotness guide for cabbage kimchi: 4 tbsp. - mild; 6 tbsp. - hot; 8 tbsp. - extra spicy.
With a covered container, keep the cabbage in the fridge or in a cool-dry room. Let it hibernate, or ferment, for two to three days before serving. Store the unused portion for up to six weeks in the refrigerator.

Kimchi has a sour bland taste like vinegerated vegetables but it’s very healthy dish for your colon. Eating steamed cabbage or kimchi can help you maintain your weight.

Balancing your Diet to a more Alkaline type.

Maintaining good health requires balancing the alkaline and acidic level of your blood through your nutrition and your lifestyle choices. Human blood pH should be slightly alkaline (7.35 - 7.45). A pH of 7.0 is neutral.  A pH below 7.0 is acidic.  A pH above 7.0 is alkaline. (P.H means potential of hydrogen or the concentration of hydrogen ions in a particular solution or medium. Excess of hydrogen ions=Acidic, too few hydrogen ions =Alkaline) If your blood P.H level falls below 7.0 your blood is acidic meaning you’re eating more acidic food, or have emotional stress such like been a worry worm, anger or overworking yourself, toxic overload in your blood, toxic drugs and or immune reactions in the body that deprives the cells of oxygen and sufficient nutrients. The body will try to compensate by using alkaline minerals.  If the diet does not contain enough minerals to compensate, a buildup of acids in the cells will occur.  When your blood becomes more acidic your body’s ability to absorb minerals and nutrients is decreased, energy production in the cell is decreased and immune system will have more difficulty repairing damaged cells. When your blood is more acidic than balanced or less alkaline, your body becomes less effective in detoxifying heavy metals making your body more vulnerable to fatigue and illness such like cancer, tumors and inflammations. A blood pH of 6.9, which is only slightly acidic, can induce coma and death. Acidosis is more common in our society because our choice of diet is far too low in alkaline producing foods--nutrients and too high in acidic producing foods.

A typical American diet is a highly acidic one because we consume more animal products like meat, eggs and dairy, ketcup, Soft Drinks, Vinegar beer, breads, brown sugar, carbonated soft drinks, cereals (refined), refined chocolate, cigarettes and tobacco, corn oil, canola oil, cream of wheat (unrefined), custard (with white sugar), deer, fish, artificial commercial fruit juices with sugar, jams, jellies, lamb, Liquor, maple syrup (processed), molasses (sulphured), pasta (white), pastries and cakes from white flour, pickles (commercial), pork, poultry, seafood, sugar (white), table/iodine salt (refined and iodized), tea (black), white bread, white vinegar (processed), whole wheat foods, wine, and yogurt (sweetened), artificial sweeteners like (NutraSweet, Spoonful, Sweet 'N Low, Equal or Aspartame), pudding, jam, jelly, table salt (NaCl), beer, yeast, hops, malt, refined sugar, white (acetic acid) vinegar, processed cheese, ice cream, beef, lobster, pheasant, barley, cottonseed oil, hazelnuts, brazil nuts, fried foods, and cola soft drinks, Bread, Cornstarch, Crackers, soda, Flour, wheat Flour, white flour, Macaroni, cup Noodles, Butter, Cheese, Cheese, Processed, Ice Cream, Ice Milk, Bacon, Beef, Carp, Clams, Cod, Corned Beef, Fish, Haddock, Lamb, Lobster, Mussels, Organ Meats, Oyster, Pike, Pork, Rabbit, Salmon, Sardines, Sausage, Scallops, Shellfish, Shrimp, Tuna, Turkey, Veal, Venison Avacado Oil, Butter, Corn Oil, lard, Aspirin, Chemicals Drugs, Medicinal Drugs, Psychedelic, Herbicides, Pesticides, Tobacco.

The above food and drinks is highly acidic and should be excluded from your healthy meal platter as much as you possibly can.

20 % of these acidic food can be added to your healthy diet: sweetened oatmeal, oat bran, Spaghetti, Spelt, Wheat Germ, Wheat Milk, Black Beans, Chick Peas, Green, Peas, Kidney Beans, Lentils, Pinto Beans, Red Beans, Rice Milk, Soy Beans, Soy Milk, White Beans, Legumes, Peanut Butter, Peanuts, Pecans, Tahini, Walnuts, brazil nut, winter squash, Safflower Oil, Sesame Oil, Sunflower Oil, Canned or Glazed Fruits, Cranberries, Plums, Prunes, Amaranth, barley, Bran, wheat, pure cocoa, dark chocolate.

Citrus fruits appear as though they would have an acidic effect on the body however; the citric acid they contain actually has an alkalizing effect in the system.

Note that food acid or alkaline forming in the body has nothing to do with the actual pH of the food itself. Likewise, meat will test alkaline before digestion, but it leaves very acidic residue in the body so, like nearly all animal products, meat is very acid forming and that is why becoming a vegan or vegetarian is healthier for your body.
It is important that we make a shift to a more alkaline diet. Your diet should consist of 80 percent alkaline foods and 20 percent acidic foods. A rainbow selection of six servings of fruits and vegetables, organic whenever possible, can help you maintain acid/alkaline balance, thereby helping reduce inflammation by providing the body with sufficient amounts of antioxidants-(a substance that blocks or inhibits destructive oxidative reactions). Generally, alkaline forming foods include: most fruits, green vegetables, legumes, whole grain, spices, herbs and seasonings, and seeds and nuts.

80 % of these alkaline food can be added to your healthy diet: Alfalfa, Barley Grass, Beet Greens, Beets, Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrot, Cauliflower, Celery, Chard Greens

Alkalizing Minerals includes:
Calcium: pH 12,  Magnesium: pH 9, Potassium: pH 14, Cesium: pH 14, Sodium: pH 14.

To make Alkaline water:
Alkaline water is recommended to neutralize the acidity that is found in more acidic diets although if you eat more alkaline foods consisting of vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts; you will need none or less alkaline water.  Alkaline water contains no acids or bases. According to many alternative health specialists, the belief is that acidity damages organs and inhibits mental processes. You can treat your water to create an alkaline water by using water containing calcium and magnesium, pouring that through a water ionizer then filtering the water to remove acidic and toxic impurities using Reverse osmosis water filter, finally you add pH booster supplement or vinegar or baking soda but never together.

Healthy food for loved one's!
Viruses, cancer and most diseases don't survive in an alkalized environment. They thrive on anything acidic. The Key to good health is to make sure that you are eating predominantly alkaline food to keep your body balanced. Your health is entirely dependent on your acid-alkaline base levels. We hope that you enjoy making the change to a more PH balanced, more alkaline and less acidic meals for you and your loved one's.

To find a better list of alkaline food and to understand how your alkaline--acid base body level affects your whole health and optimal energy see this Acid-Alkaline Food guide.

Natural remedy for prostate cancer

What can you do to reduce or prevent Prostate Cancer especially if you have more
than two people who had suffered cancer in your family?

  • Tumeric is a spice that contains curcumin, anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant that may be effective in controlling prostate cancer.

  • Chinese Ginseng is beneficial for prostate Health and
sexual vitality. Nature's way Siberian Ginseng is a tonic for the male reproductive organs.  Caution with ginseng: Do not use Siberian ginseng if you have hypoglycemia, high blood pressure, or a heart
    disorder.

  • Nettle extract has anti-inflammatory properties, combined
extract of nettle roots and saw palmetto has been proven effective for BPH.

  • Saw palmetto has been used to treat prostate problems
such as enlarged and inflamed prostrate, painful ejaculation, difficult urination, and inability to control urination called enuresis. It reduces prostatic enlargement by reducing the amount of hormonal stimulation of the prostate gland.
    Find Saw palmetto

  • Modified citrus pectin has been shown to substantially
inhibit the growth of cancer cells and is especially effective in combating prostate cancer.

  • Garlic (Kyolic from Wakunaga) enhances immune function, helps break down testosterone and has been shown to slow cancer cell growth.

  • Maitake extract helps inhibit the growth and spread of cancerous tumors as well as boost immune functions.

  • Resveratrol is a phyto-chemical derived from grapes that helps to maintain a healthy prostate

  • Whole Food and Macrobiotic diet helps, also including foods high in vitamin C-bioflavonoid and antioxidants in your diet such as green tea, lycopene, Maitake extract, garlic, onions, fresh cantaloupe, organic apples, berries especially blueberries and strawberries, cherries, plums, grapes, plums can be very helpful because nutrition
    plays
an important role in the treatment and prevention of cancer. An Anticancer diet is composed primarily of fresh raw fruits and vegetables, fresh pure organic juices made of berries (like cranberries, blueberries, beets juice, cabbage and carrots), mushrooms, pumpkin seeds, spinach, sunflower seeds, legumes like (lentils, red beans, chickpeas), and raw nuts like walnuts, Brazil nuts, almond nuts which may have laetrile that has anticancer properties, and seeds, and whole grains such as wheat, oats, bran, millet, barley, bran, unpolished brown rice. Also eat plenty of cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, and cauliflower, yellow and deep-orange vegetables like squash, pumpkin, carrots, yams, sweet potatoes---Remember organic is best.

  • Avoid too much cooked food: Chemical reactions occur when fat is cooked, even worse when grilled over smoke stove or cooked burnt---leading to the production of free radicals, which play a major role in certain cancers. Also avoid stainless steel utensils--use only glass and wood utensils for your best health safety.

  • Do not eat Red meat—if possible avoid all meat (become a Vegan). There is a definite correlation between high red meat consumption (five servings a week or more) and the development of prostate cancer.  Also avoid corn and canola oil, they are usually made of GMO ingredients in the developed countries unless the corn is locally grown by a reputable organic farmer.
  • Reduce your consumption of Chinese food because they usually are prepared with soy sauce with MSG and refined sugar; try MSG free soups and dishes free of sugar (they won't say but you can tell when there's sugar in your food---usually the sweet and sour meals and fried sauteed meat dishes have some type of sugar in it) or better try Indian food instead because they are made with high antioxidant spice/herbs like turmeric and other Indian goodies.

  • Abstain from all alcoholic beverages, coffee and caffeinated teas helps.

  • Eliminate junk foods, processed refined foods, peanuts, salt, saturated fats, poly-unsaturated vegetable oils, all artificial and refined sugar, and white flour. Use sea kelp or potassium to substitute salt.

  • Eat plenty of grapefruit, watermelon, and tomatoes and tomato products such as tomato juice and tomato-based sauces. These contain lycopene, which has been shown to protect against prostate cancer.

  • Eat 1 to 4 ounces of pumpkin seeds every day. Pumpkin seeds are helpful for almost all prostate troubles because they are rich in zinc, you can also take pumpkin seed oil supplement/capsule.

  • Drink green drinks---juice of 2 organic lemons, 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup, 1/4 tablespoon cayenne pepper, 1 ounce fresh wheat-grass juice, and i quart of distilled water.

  • Take coffee enemas with wheat-grass juice added to 1 cup of distilled water.

  • Drink at least ten to eight ounce glass of water daily. This help hydrate the body, keeps the prostate working efficiently, and helps to eliminate toxins from the body. Avoid Municipal and well water because they are known to contain chlorine, fluoride, and agricultural and industrial chemical residue. Use only distilled water or reverse-osmosis filtered water.

  • Regular intake of Zinc (50 milligrams a daily) and essential fatty acids—Omega-3 fatty acids from plant source (in supplement form or from cold-pressed flax-seed oil, soybean oil, sesame, olive oil) may help prevent development of cancer.

  • Pygeum (Pygeum africanum), cayenne (capsicum) and false unicorn root is effective in the treatment and prevention of prostate problems. The herb pygeum and saw palmetto are mostly used for the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH is characterized by the enlargement of the prostate gland sufficient to cause obstruction of the urethra. With age, there is a build-up of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which increases prostate size. There is also a shift in the normal balance of hormones in the body (less testosterone more estrogens). These plants can inhibit 5-alpha-reductase, which slows the change of testosterone to DHT.

  • Nature's Way Black radish, dandelion, milk thistle, and red clover are good for cleansing the liver and the blood.

  • Gravel root, hydrangea, oat straw, parsley root, uva ursi, and yarrow are diuretics that helps dissolve sediment.

  • Damiana and licorice root have the ability to balance hormones and glandular function. Caution: Licorice root should not be used during pregnancy or nursing. It should not be
used by persons with diabetes, glaucoma, heart disease, high blood pressure, or
    a history of stroke.

  • Buchu, capsicum (red pepper), Rosemary, sage, thyme, ginger, cat's claw, canivora, Echinacea, goldenseal, pau d’acro, and suna have all shown anticancer properties. You can take this in tea form, using two at a time and alternating among them. Caution: Do
not take echinacea for longer than three months. It should not be used by people who are allergic to ragweed. Do not take goldenseal internally on a daily basis for more than one week at a time. Do not use it during pregnancy or if you are breast-feeding, and use with caution if you are allergic to ragweed. If you have a history of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or glaucoma, use it only under a doctor’s supervision.

  • Caffeine-free Herbal teas like Pure Green Tea extract of 200 milligrams per day was shown to reduce the recurrence of tumors in men with high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia. Also the Ojibwa Herbal Tea, a native American Indian Herbal tea composed of sheep sorrel, burdock root, slippery elm bark, and turkey rubarb root has been reported to have positive healing effect on those battling cancer.

  • Take Ginger because ginger suppresses nausea and therefore is an excellent treatment for the nausea and upset stomach that sometimes occur in chemotherapy treatment (i don't recommend chemotherapy). Ginger works best when taken with protein.

  • Research has shown that soybeans and soy products, such as tofu, soy yogurt, kefir tempeh, soy flour, and soymilk, have cancer fighting powers due to the
presence of a protein called genistein.
Geinstein retards tumor growth by preventing the growth of new blood
vessels to feed the tumor. It appears to be particularly effective against prostate cancer, but also works against breast cancer in women and colon cancer
    in both women and men.

  • Maintaining a normal weight by exercise and keeping up
    antioxidant nutrition helps.

  • Regular sexual activity---regular sexual ejaculation activates the prostate gland---keeps the organ from becoming stagnant and inflamed.

  • Try to avoid all known carcinogens in food and cosmetic products. Avoid tobacco—cigarette smoking, polluted air, polluted water, toxic chemicals, and toxic food and toxic cosmetic additives.  Limit your exposure to pesticides and other environmental contaminants. Avoid chemicals such as hair sprays, cleaning compounds, waxes, fresh paints, and garden pesticides. Many of these chemicals contain harmful toxins that promote the formation of free radicals in the body, which may lead to cancer. People with cancer can further weaken their immune systems by coming into contact with toxic chemical ingredients. The body then must expend energy trying to protect itself from the damaging effects of these toxic ingredients instead of fighting the cancer.

  • Try your very best to avoid the 50 COMMON THINGS THAT CAUSE CANCER.
