Every day Hot spots for Microbes that can make you sick

When we move around everyday and we meet alot of microbes every where we go and some of them cause cold. prodrone is the name for early stage cold before it hits the fence and crosses into you.  Sometimes, all it takes to get a cold or flu is your hand touching an infected surface and then touching your face, eye, nose, mouth; and the next thing you know, microbes begin to creep in slowly.

It is said that spending time where a large number of people congregate daily could increase the chance of catching a cold or viral infection like a flu. And
with the cold and flu and other run-of-the-mill bugs crawling around us all year round, germaphobes like me have plenty to worry about. Because viruses and bacteria live practically everywhere — in the grocery stores, at the daycare, playgrounds, shopping malls, restaurants, on dollar bills and coins, at the retail cash register, in contaminated water left open; is just too difficult trying to avoid germs or microbes that can cause us to be sick. Some microbes can survive up to two hours on shopping carts, escalator handrails, even doorknobs before they find their next victim.

A list of places where microbes are more rampant:

Grocery shopping carts that never gets cleaned after every other person uses them to carry their foods and kids in, are E. coli hot spots “because they may sneeze, blow their noses, scratch their skin and then touch the cart handles while trying to use it to hold raw food, diaper wearing kids, and sometimes i
have even seen teens ride shopping carts with their shoes on like its an amusement park hot wheel. And most people would use these carts without disinfecting the handles; and most times the same hand they use to touch or drive the shopping cart they will use to select fresh good grocery like tomato at the store .

Day cares and kids play ground where alot of kids play:
Sometimes kids arrive from home to the daycare already sick which exposes other kids to what ever they have. Other times a kids hand goes from the chair
to their mouth or from their nose to the play swing their other buddies may use next; it’s a whole journey of cross contamination, you never know what you expect. And other times bird poop found in outdoor play grounds can pose a serious health threat to any immune deficient person especially kids and elderly.

Another microbe hot spot is the petting zoos and animal exhibits infected with E. coli, says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

 Deli or meat produce:
You may also get exposed to immune scavenging microbes if come in contact with meat package leaks on bags or conveyor belt or Poultry and beef at the store that may contain bacterial bombs such as salmonella, campylobacter and E. coli, which cause severe diarrhea, nausea and other health problems. About 70%-80% of the shopping carts tested nationwide had E. coli.

At the office:
Microbes can be found on filthy work uniform and boots, office desk, phones and supplies. Car keys, cell phone also have microbes on them from you touching
them after touching other surfaces.

Nursing homes:
Where room are shared or the same towels used to wipe the residents body is also used as a mat to place their feet on the ground and then after wards tossed in with the other dirty laundry to be washed.

Cleaning cloths, sponges or brushes:
Cleaning rags at home or restaurant that is used over and over again to wipe high kid chairs and counter tops like dinner tables without disinfecting. Carry
sanitary wipes to swipe the tabletop and high chair when you’re seated.

At the city public library:
Libraries appear to be tidy, sterile places, but they crawl with as many germs as a fast-food restaurant.Lots of people shuffle through and peruse books, log on to computers and touch countertops.

Moist bathroom surfaces:
Some people think that microbes love toilet sink and toilet floors more than they love the sink where we wash our hands after using the toilet but no, It’s the sink these microbes love most because it’s a moist area where they can breed better. We get exposed to these microbes when we touch tissue roll container, soap dispenser, faucet, door knobs, right after we use the bathroom. However, most bathrooms now have no exit door--just a hall walk way, electronic toilet dispenser and hand dryers; so you don’t have to touch any surface as you exit the bathroom.

Okay, so what’s the cleanest part of a bathroom? some would say the toilet seat but i say none because less microbes on the toilet seat doesn’t mean the toilet seat isn’t harboring some pretty contagious fellow on there. So i would recommend not touching moist surfaces in the bathroom and wash hands thoroughly after using the bathroom, always use a paper towel to turn the water off and to open door; this will create a barrier between your clean hands and other microbes waiting as you exit out of the bathroom.

“We encounter germs, bacteria, viruses everywhere, so to keep yourself protected you would want to know how to keep your immune strong; and this brings me to the purpose of this article. How to boost your immune and still be safe around microbes. Although, only 1%-2% microbes are potentially dangerous to people with normal immunity;  the body has an incredible ability to fight off immune scavengers. Special cells called neutrophils and lymphocytes (white blood cells) found in the body attack any microscopic invader on contact.

Not scare you, but “prevention--safety is better than cure”. Follow the proper hand-washing techniques like you would see in this video:

Other things you can do to protect yourself:

Eating whole healthy food, antioxidants containing immune defense properties is helpful in preventing a cold or flu; even more embarrassing cold sores. Vitamins A, B6, C, and E and the minerals copper, iron, selenium, and zinc found in whole food and dietary supplement like spirulina can help fight against cold and flu or shorten its occurrence.

Eat or use immune-boosting herbs.
To get the most herbal immune support against colds and flu.
Echinacea is a daisy-like flower native to the Midwest, nation’s most popular – and controversial – immune stimulant for both humans and pets.

Astragalus:This Chinese herb stimulates T-helper and natural killer cells, which are essential elements of the immune system. Chinese clinical trials have shown that the herb stimulates production of interferon, the body’s own antiviral agent.

Elderberry: This delicious berry is rich in anthocyanins, a healthful chemical found in purple and red fruit. Also known as sambucus, elderberry is an age-old treatment for many illnesses, including the flu.

Garlic is effective for lowering cholesterol, preventing heart disease, and healing cold. A mixture of kola, garlic and honey is an immediate relief for cold and cough.

Ginger is a herbal spice that is well known for its warming flavor, which you’ve likely used in cooking. In herbal medicine, ginger is one of the most effective anti-inflammatory plants. It relaxes muscular tension and takes away joint pain. It helps stimulates your circulation in the body, due to its blood-thinning quality. Some studies have found ginger to be a highly effective in treating upset stomach, nausea, swelling, joint stiffness, pain caused by inflammation.
Consider preparing your teas and meals with fresh ginger, it is especially good in soups, stir-fry meal, warm honey lemon tea.

Take a multivitamin.
Even with a diet rich in antioxidants, it can be difficult to get the full range of vitamins and minerals your body needs. A vitamin-mineral supplement may be necessary to enhance immune function.

Get enough sleep
Sleep less than you should and your immune system is likely to suffer.

There’s no “normal” amount of sleep, but the healthy minimum for mental and emotional balance is seven hours a day.

Exercise, let your body work it out.
Compared with couch-sitters, people who engage in regular, moderate exercise have increased immunity to viruses and other illness. People who exercise moderately for at least 45 minutes most days of the week, get less sick.

Reduce your stress
Stress--Anxiety can cause hormonal imbalance. To reduce the stress in your life, avoid the negative things and people causing you pain, have a good sense of humor, laugh as much as you like, laughter helps reduce stress, it is considered one of the best anti-aging medicine?  Meditation helps reduce stress, it helps protect your body.
