Last year i was unconscious after a car crash one morning in November on my way back from work, i survived and after my recovery from the car rack, i realized nothing mattered to me but the people and things i love on this very planet. The first vivid image i saw when i returned back to conscious were the people i loved and there i was in the ambulance gasping for my dear life asking if i will have another chance to see them again and wondering if i would make it back to life.........then i blanked out then i woke up again in stitches, blood, glass in a hospital, trying to figure out how i got here to begin with. it was the best and worst place, a void filled with air i had ever felt in my whole entire life. I feel it is a miracle that i am here till now. It has caused me to see life through another mirror,
and to live in the moment. And so because of this understanding i began to make constructive choices to minimize stress and to create more time to pursue interest that will improve my spiritual, emotional well-being and physical energy----I decided i will begin to live life fully and i also thought it will help someone to share these few tips i use now.
----Now what do i mean by this saying "living life fully---living in the moment". It really means been in the present with a complete awareness of the past, present and future. It means making time spent on earth your most important treasure---"make it your ally" . Knowing that Today is a very serious moment of your life because all i have is this moment; i begin to use the power of my intention to make my life useful. Begin to use inspirations from other success stories to plant the seeds of your future in the present, through your aspirations. Avoid letting your self sit and dream life away. Begin each day to be involved with the things, places and people you love. Take your thoughts into a quiet state of meditation, and let your intuition and intellect guide you-rather than your emotions--look at the situation you're challenged by. Regular reflection through meditation can help you live life more passionately--more complete.
Begin to welcome new ideas because during your journey this year, the different moments will shape the course of your life as you will encounter new ideas. Judge ideas, make sure they have stood the test of time by the kind of people who are drawn to it. In that moment consider what kind of person you wish to become. Be open and receptive to new thoughts and ideas, and other ways of looking at new stuff. Develop your intellect and intuition by reading widely, think deeply, and don't ever lose your sense of discrimination--it helps you sort nasty things from good ol things. Be mindful of people around you who influence your attitude and out look.
Make connections with others in life because all life has its purpose. Find independence and a real sense of connection to the nature within you and the nature around you. Sit for a moment to a sound of meditative music and reflect upon the many people, things that touch your life everyday. Like your companion
pet or friend who inspires hope into your life or like a bee in a bee hive who makes healing honey wax, may be think how about the hens that lays the eggs you buy and how are they cared for? everyone has something to contribute to the greater whole. Think of the people who helped you directly and indirectly by your own work. Reflect on people whom you have helped in these past years or days without a need to gain something. After i survived the accident, there is no month i don't think of the paramedic or the person who called 911 to help bring me back to life. And now i have become even more thankful and loving to all the people in my life. I mean what do you got to lose to just be thankful and mindful. I mean be aware of all the fun that come to you from around the world---i know it sounds too good to be real looking at how chaotic things can be but Every time you make a cup of tea, eat an orange, drive a car, buy some pet food, flush your waste, you benefit from this connection to this natural existence.----interdependence.
Understand that human life is just one thread in a much big ecosystem---we are interconnected, and harm to one mammals is harm to all mammals so be mindful and thankful when you take the fruits you yourself have not created. Human exploitation of soil, animals has left the human planet--us a great deal of damage. Have respect and compassion for everyone no matter how ugly or small it looks---"if it harm you none, why do you harm it"---all life has its purpose---do not belittle the existence of others or of things that are insignificant to yours.
Your thoughts creates you and your desires in life.
You're what you think--Is your thoughts energy-efficient or is it dimming out the natural light inside of you. Be aware of the power of your mind. Being trapped in habitual patterns of negative thinking can create poor energy level and cause you to be less productive and efficient daily. Your thoughts predispose you to view everything in a particular way. Habitual thinking creates very strong patterns that can become hard to break--like hateful vivid thoughts. Stubborn patterns of thinking can mold your life out of shape. so be aware of what kinds of thoughts fill your mind and try your best to switch and break the mold of nasty ideas/values.---i know it can be hard at times especially when someone close to us really upset us but I would begin by replacing those thoughts by saying things like i am thankful, i am mindful, i am alive and someone loves me and so do i.
Try this:- silently say I am thankful, I am mindful, i can be peaceful, i am thankful, i am mindful. meditate on each one---what it means to you and how it feels.
Choose an animal and meditate on its life for example, you can chose someone who cares for you truly, a dog, a gerbil, cat, a fish, some favorite plants, you name it and each has its symbol in life. Try to consider the value of things that you dislike or are insignificant to you. Preserve the balance of life in your environment, use nontoxic products in your daily hygiene and environment to nurture a natural balance. when you have to use a toxic products please make sure its disposed well without harm to water supply or other living creatures.
Exercise your mind and body
Use your yoga mat or get into a calming exercise activity like stretches (to increase mental energy) and Try to move towards enlightenment. Enlightenment is an experience that can happen to anyone who is willing to allow themselves to experience it. I get my share of it daily---It is like suddenly awakening to life itself---i call it "awakening to the nature within you and the nature around you". You can get enlightened by reading more self help psychology or new age books, you can achieve it through meditation---It can cause a breakthrough in the way you see everything in your life. It is like feeling the life in you guiding and renewing you; i can't explain it all in my words but only you can tell when you awaken. I can't promise you that after reading this your life will be chaos free but i think it can help your journey towards enlightenment become a journey into self discovery. You will begin to see the bigger picture in your daily life and from these moment you don't feel the same any more----is like a snake shedding its skin daily.
And to keep growing in this enlightenment you would want to be around like-minded people who express hope and commitment to a positive interest where ever you are or go. Been like-minded is not the same as been cluttered into a narrow minded circle. How you choose to live and who you keep constant company with can tip the balance in your life----Be mindful. It seems like whatever happens in the natural, happens in the spiritual as well. Your appetite for healthier relationships and more and better variety of experiences, books, and mentors will grow.Food is the beauty of life and in all life
Okay the truth is, You're what you eat--Your choice of food reflects your life values; what is your current choice of food? do you have fresh whole food or junk fatty sugary stuff stacked in your refrigerator ? what does it reflect about your will to choose--choice? Has your food been produced in a way that is harmful to the environment or to animals? Do you choose sugary or fatty foods, cigarettes, alcohol that may be harmful to you? What can you do to achieve a more healthy eating patterns ? write it down, get them and see if you can try to be more consistent in your choice of food. For example, i have a tooth for sugary cookies, so i would eat so much cookies when stressed and gain weight which then makes me feel bloated and fat so my self-esteem begins to go down. So to fix this, i decided to stick to less sugary and non fattening cookies like crackers with original sweetened non-gmo almond milk----now to most people this is a weird combination but to me, this is complete yummyness if that's even a word in your dictionary but anyway, you get my point. you don't let others chose what you should eat, have a back bone to say no. can you say NO---"i will not eat meat--"other mammals" because i care about my health if you really are or want to be".
Don't Rush Changing the circumstances in your life is going to be a gradual transition----Try not to rush it, be mindful and steadfast as you pursue your daily goals.
begin to seek out vegetarian recipe---i would start with soups and multivitamin supplements. Even better have you considered eating your seafood platter with fresh raw chopped up vegetables including cabbage, spinach, kale, carrots etc.
You can start living consciously right this minute. You may not have tomorrow but you do have the present moment. As the saying goes, "Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today." Mark your time ---do you feel that months and years go by with no real achievement or sense of purpose? bring your awareness back to living in the present. Devour time, your life will pass in time but remember the moments that mode you daily. Now get up---stretch your body.
Begin with this exercise this Year: silently say I am thankful, I am mindful, i can be peaceful, i am thankful, i am mindful. meditate on each one---what it means to you and how it feels.
This is what i started doing to train my mind out of negative habits------the mind likes repetition and patterns, so train the mind to assume these roles as we say it silently and meditate on each one. When you say i am Thankful---it reminds the mind to be grateful for what you already have and not to complain grudgingly; I am mindful---means i am aware of my past and the effects its left so therefore i am aware of who i am; I can be peaceful means --i know i have troubles but i can try to keep calm; but once you say this, all the things that aren't peaceful may arise along with it like the complain/distractions/excuses that arise sometimes from you thinking the word peaceful -----so then you remind the mind again---i am thankful for what i have---the people who care and those i care for, i can be peaceful and i am mindful.
And the more the brain feeds into this message---the more it will begin to align itself so longs as we are really maintaining mindful environment, posture and attitude throughout the day. And when you feel stressed by someone---repeat this words in that same pattern. it's easy to forget so take a pen and inscribe it where you will see it always----like a pop up window. because thoughts itself is like a pop up window triggered by external and internal signals. (This is what am doing to try to help myself change). you can try to do it too so that by the time is the mid of the year---you will be prepared to face the difficult times the fall will bring once again.
Listen to how your body feels---your body is an organism built system that works under a set mechanical & biological rule. As we go from morning dews to daylight rays to midnight calm---the body & mind feels and adjust accordingly like the tides in the sea that rise and fall like the sea waves moving from warm to cold, the universe has a rhythm & our mind is a part of it. Don't you think it's alright to nurture your body and mind along the cycles of the day and seasons? would it make sense to do that.
Give the mind the appropriate tools and give it time to assimilate---leave lots of reminders to take you back to the same stimuli you want it to assimilate-----this is may help you learn to create a healthy habit.----"new year resolution".
Keep calm, be mindful and forge forward---don't worry, what will happen will happen after you have done your best. Take some time for yourself to relax---sip tea, do your part, love something and see a movie ---it can be calming.
