Tips that helps when dealing with food allergies

  1. Change your diet- Consider becoming a vegetarian. Buy organic foods like fruits and vegetables. Organic food is free of toxic chemicals, pesticide and grown by ethical farmer. Eating organic food helps reduce the chemical and pesticide toxicity in your diet.
  2. Use of allergy safe products to help prevent an incidence of allergic reactions.
  3. You may have to change or stop a medications you suspect to be allergenic, speak with a homeopathic doctor before you consider this. Try using herbs like Echinacea, Garlic, Neem, Lavender, lemongrass to relieve and prevent allergy symptoms, they are effective and soothing for the body.
  4. Breastfeeding helps to reduce a child's chances of developing food allergies (nursing mum should avoid foods high in preservatives and additives). Restrict a mother's diet during pregnancy or while breast-feeding to reduce allergies.
  5. Delay feeding kids solid foods to reduce the chances of developing food allergies. 
  6. Eat organic foods high in antioxidants, nutrients and vitamins (super foods) to help build a strong immune system.
  7. Incorporate juicing into your diet, whether it is from organic fruits, vegetables or both.
  8. Find a way to reduce the mental and physical stress in your life. Many people say that as their life becomes more stressful, their allergies become more predominant
  9. Cooking helps to reduce food allergy;  cooking heat helps degrade protein.
  10. Because allergens are not always easily identified it is wise to take personal note of what you are or not allergic to by removing the suspected food item from your diet  for two weeks, if the symptoms goes away, then after the two week is over reintroduce the suspected  items. If your allergy returns you are allergic to that which is in your food.
  11. Read Food Labels to help you choose toxin and addictive free food
  12. Use extreme caution when eating out, ask for recipe of the food before eating if you suspect an allergen.
  13. Avoid processed foods
  14. Improper handling can cause food contamination so it wise to practice proper food safety.
  15. Carry an epinephrine self-injector (E P I-pen) in case of accidental exposure to an allergen.
  16. Peanuts is known to be the most dangerous food allergies. small amounts of peanut protein can trigger an anaphylactic shock. Roasting peanuts can makes it more allergenic.
  17. If you are allergic to orange juice and other citrus juices peeling the back of citrus to remove limonene oil found in citrus peels that can cause an allergic reaction can help.
