Multi-Vitamins is an Important part of a healthy beauty and health regime

Are you contemplating if the vitamin in your diet is enough, will you need mega amount to compensate nutrients missing in today’s food supply? Will taking synthetic supplements contribute to aging or some other complications? Should I take vitamins and minerals made from natural sources like herbs or fruit or synthetic vitamins made from petrochemicals? Are synthetic supplements better than natural supplements?  Is it okay to take vitamin supplement when under high level of daily stress and constant exposure to environmental chemicals? And the answer is yes we do need daily vitamin and mineral supplement to help protect our body from free radical damage that cause pre-mature aging and disease that could plague our body especially when we experience extreme stress.

Vitamins are essential to life. They contribute to good health by regulating the metabolism and assisting the biochemical processes that release energy from digested food. These macro-nutrients are needed by the body in small amounts along with nutrients such as carbohydrate, proteins, fats and water.

Synthetic vitamins are produced in laboratories from isolated chemicals that mirror their counterparts found in nature while natural vitamins are derived from food sources. Although there are no major chemical differences between a vitamin found in food and one created in a laboratory, synthetic supplements contain isolated vitamins only, while natural supplements may contain other nutrients not yet discovered. This is because these vitamins are in their natural state. If you are deficient in a particular nutrient, the chemical source will work, but you will not get the benefits of the vitamin as found in whole foods. Supplements that are not labeled natural also may include coal tars, artificial coloring, preservatives, sugars, and starch, as well as other additives and possible traces of harmful elements although it may not intentional but as a result of the artificial additive used in the manufacturing process.

A bottle of natural vitamins might contain vitamins that have not been extracted from a natural food source. It is necessary to read labels carefully to make sure the products you buy contain nutrients from food sources, with none of the artificial additives.

Protein-bonded vitamins found in natural whole food supplements that are absorbed, utilized, and retained in the tissue is better than supplements that are not protein-bonded. Vitamins and minerals in food are bonded to proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and bioflavonoids.  Of the major vitamins, some are soluble in water and other in oil. Water-soluble vitamins must be taken into the body daily, as they cannot be stored and are excreted within four hours to one day. These include vitamin C and the B-complex vitamins. Oil soluble vitamins can be stored for longer periods of time in the body’s fatty tissue and the liver. These include vitamin A, D, E, and K. Both types of vitamins are needed by the body for proper functioning.

 MINERALS

The human body, as with all of nature, must maintain its proper chemical balance. This balance depends on the levels of different minerals in the body and especially the ratios of certain mineral levels to one another. The level of each mineral in the body has an effect on every other one, so if one is out of balance, all mineral levels are affected. If not corrected, this can start a chain reaction of imbalances that lead to illness.

Minerals are naturally occurring elements found in the earth. Rock formations are made up of mineral salts. Rock and stone are gradually broken down into tiny fragments by erosion.  We depend on minerals for proper structure and function. Minerals are needed for the proper composition of the body fluids, the formation of blood and bone, the maintenance of healthy nerve function, and the regulation of muscle tone, including that of the muscles of the cardiovascular system. Like vitamins, minerals function as co-enzymes, enabling the body to perform its functions, including energy production, growth, and healing. Because all enzyme activities involve minerals, minerals are essential for the proper utilization of vitamins and other nutrients.
Chelated mineral supplements are bonded to protein molecules that transport them to the bloodstream and enhance their absorption. Alginate forms of minerals make the most effective supplements.

Note that the absorption of minerals can also be affected by the use of fiber supplements. Fiber decreases the body’s absorption of minerals therefore; supplemental fiber and minerals should be taken at different times.

Enzymes are essential chemicals that are the foundation of human bodily functions. They are catalysts (activators) in the chemical reactions that are continually taking place within the body. As co-enzymes, vitamins work with enzymes, thereby allowing all the activities that occur within the body to be carried out as they should be. Whole, fresh raw foods are a good source of enzymes.

Keep in mind; All vitamin supplements work best when taken in combination with food. Unless specified otherwise, oil-soluble vitamins should be taken before meals, and water-soluble ones should be taken after meals. (This applies when you are taking individual supplements only. Multivitamins have both water-soluble and oil-soluble elements.) To get full potency from your supplements, you may want to try using raw food created vitamins made from single-cell yeast, saccharomyces cerevisiae. This yeast creates vitamins and minerals that are not isolated or synthesized, that come from nutrient-dense whole foods.
